4 of JULY!

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!! Traditional American Barbecue  everywhere!

Norwegian/Norway

Norway, my amazing country, is  utterly beautiful. The Norwegian lifestyle is in many ways old fashioned, to me.  Retro things seem to capture my eye, and Norway is like a land lost in time, for it seems to be without the harsh sounds of violence and the shrill aromas of pollution! No place is perfect, but Norway seems to be pretty close in my books! Norway has lots of modern things about it too, for they have world renowned cruises, advertised on PBS, if anyone watches masterpiece! I enjoy making Boller; a traditional Norwegian raisin bun, Daim cake is my favorite to make, it is vanilla ice cream and Daim all in one delicious frozen/baked cake! Daim which is the equivalent of the American Heath bar, except it is made with traditional Norwegian Chocolate! And yes, we are the country of the Trolls!

Nancy Drew

My Family has had a huge connection with Nancy Drew ever since it's creation.  I discovered this a few years back, and thought nothing of it.   But in the later years, it had come to my attention that I had never read the bloody books! I had made all assumptions that it was like any mystery girl story.  I was wrong.   Nancy turns out to be a really sensible person! Wow!  No wonder in the 1930's-infinity all of the little children were dazed by this miraculous book!
IF one thinks about it, Nancy Drew was a creation of the 1930's where the idealistic woman, was no where close to equality.  Yet Nancy shows that this fact has more or less no effect on her! She was scared of some situations throughout the mysteries she faced, but that didn't stop her.  When she was bullied for being one way or another, she proved herself to be utterly invincible! What a message to send to girls in the 30's!

There was a nancy drew series in the 70's. I believe they did not follow the same plot as the books did, but where nevertheless captivating. I also believe with the same company, they created the Hardy Boys series too.  The Hardy Boys where a huge book success in the same era as Nancy Drew!  Don't just put these books on the shelf! Read them! They are like a trip into a charming vintage world!

Life is all about inspiration resulting in passion.   Through this blog I hope to give inspiration to any artist whether their field in art be: Visual arts, Performing arts, or any other kind of art there is!
